Dhyana 51 review

This is the debut album from Cleveland, Ohio (USA) alt. country singer/songwriter Derek DePrator. He's joined here by a cast of ten friends including members of his former band Cobra Verde. Also joining Derek is fellow DHYANA Records alumni Thomas O. Huber (AUS), who co- wrote two songs and mailed in a guitar track for one. This LP has something for everybody, from the Jayhawks-ish "How Great It Is" to the Billy Bragg influenced "An Honest Mistake" to the more traditional country stylings of "Daddy's Not Coming Home" and "Alone". All of this on 12" vinyl with the cover of the record silkscreened onto the non- playable side! Also on CD (on ELEET Tapes in USA, distributed here). DHYANA goes country!
